A family by the name, ironically, of Colon had a backup in their sewer line and it blew their toilet off and spurted feces, urine and oil everywhere. Check the story out here. The poor family will probably be the butt of many jokes.

Wisconsin thieves made off with almost $26,000 of cerveza. The article reports the breakdown of the missing products: The missing product, valued at $25,788, included:
• 560 18-packs of MGD 12-ounce bottles

• 980 18-packs of MGD 12-ounce cans

• 40 24-packs of Miller Light 16-ounce plastic bottle

 • 384 24-packs of Miller Genuine Draft can

WOW, they must have had one hell of a party!

         

Last Moment Twilight

A very sad and moving portrayal of the dwindling number of "black farmers"  at NPR. In the book, "Black Farmers in America", "Photographer John Ficara and NPR's Juan Williams, who wrote an essay for the book (below), talk about the black families who still work on American family farms, despite decades of tough times." Bush the anti-enviromentalist

A very sad day for God's green earth. Our nation's president and his administration have announced a detailed proposal to sell public lands, now READ THIS, for $1 BILLION DOLLARS!!!!!!!!! This is astronomical and ridiculous. Their reason?

"Forest Service officials say the sales are needed to raise $800 million over the next five years to pay for schools and roads in rural counties hurt by logging cutbacks on federal land. The Bureau of Land Management has said it also plans to sell federal lands to raise an estimated $250 million over five years."

AND

"But Agriculture Undersecretary Mark Rey, who directs forest policy, said the parcels to be sold are isolated, expensive to manage or no longer meet the needs of the national forest system. The administration expects to have to sell only about 200,000 of the 309,000 acres identified Friday to meet the $800 million goal, he said."

AND

"the administration proposing to sell off public lands to help finance the president's budget"

God, forgive us for not being good stewards of your creation and for allowing money to be a priority. I also ask that some way this budget proposal would fail.

Say goodbye to Jeeves. "Jeeves the valet who for a decade has overseen searches on the Ask website is about to be sacked." Now the sight is going to be known simply as "ASK". Ask what? This is a sad day in the www. The story going around is that Jeeves is retiring. i wonder if he will get a gold watch?

TSA implements new security policy

Headline not really true, but i think it will be the wave of the future in airline security. I mean, we already have to remove coats and jackets, shoes, belts, jewelry, and non-clothing items such as computers. Wouldn't it just be easier to arrive at the airport stark naked? Oh boy, wouldn't the Right Wing Conservative Christians be up in arms! I can see it now, P.Ro, Falwell, Dobson, Wilder, and the like all protesting outside our nations airports, dressed like Victorian-era prudes protesting this insanity! Oh, how dreams and visions can come true!

"By working together, we stopped a catastrophic attack"

Los Angele's largest building, The US Bank Tower, was saved by US intelligence from a catastrophic attack bt Al Qaeda. Why is this making such big news now when this news was first disclosed last year? Is this a political roost to engage more fear in USAmericans so our government has the right to wiretap,pass the horrible Patriot Act provisions, and keep disgruntled travelers who are tired of taking their shoes off at the airports a little more in line? This is dispicable, in my opinion, to use politics to control people. Let's see, this reminds me of George Orwell's 1984. God help President Bush to come into line with your plans for our nation, its inhabitants, and the world.
